Royal Caribbean International Breaks Ground For Royal Beach Club Paradise Island
Royal Caribbean International and its first Royal Beach Club
This week, leaders from Royal Caribbean International and the Bahamian government got together for the groundbreaking of Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Spreading over 17 acres, the beach day experience is officially under construction.
Jason Liberty announced in a statement at the event:
Marking more than the beginning of the construction process, today’s groundbreaking event symbolizes partnership, momentum and continued economic development for so many Bahamian entrepreneurs and the entire community.
We are grateful to our partners for their support, especially the Bahamian government, who stand with us here today in celebration of what is to come.
Launch of the new Royal Beach Club Collection
Royal Beach Club Paradise Island will be the first in the company’s new, exciting Royal Beach Club Collection. Meanwhile, it is set to open in 2025, featuring beautiful beaches, private cabanas, three pools to choose from, swim-up bars and four restaurants.
When the first beach club opens next year, it is planned to host around 2,000 guests. Once they disembark from their Royal Caribbean cruise ship at Nassau Cruise Port, guests will take a ferry to the beach club. When ready to return to the ship, they will head through downtown Nassau, near the Straw Market.
Speaking at the event, Bayley said in a statement:
The beauty and charm of the island are why we chose to debut the Royal Beach Club Collection in Nassau, and with the collaboration and support of local entrepreneurs and the wider community, we know that what we create will far exceed everything we imagined.
More about the new project
Clearly, the people of the Bahamas will benefit from the new Royal Beach Club. Moreover, it is built in a public-private partnership between the cruise line and the Bahamas. Locals will reportedly own up to 49 percent equity in the club, while the beach club will showcase Bahamian food, culture and staff.
Meanwhile, the project was designed by a Bahamian architectural firm. Moreover, local businesses and entrepreneurs will manage parts of the construction process and the club experience itself.
“As we break ground on Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, together with the government and the people of the Bahamas, we are celebrating what partnership and innovation can achieve,” said Bayley. “This will be yet one more reason, in Nassau’s bright future, to experience a destination we have visited since the very beginning of Royal Caribbean more than 50 years ago.”
