Here’s Why Traveling To Cancun, Mexico Off-Season Is The Best Season

My travel schedule usually depends on my children’s school schedules. Now that they are a little older, getting good grades, monitoring their homework and test schedules and making sure that they maintain good attendance is important. After all, their education comes first.

But with that being said, we recently had the opportunity to visit a newly renovated all-inclusive resort in the heart of Cancun, Mexico. But here’s the thing: the travel dates were well into their school year in mid-October.

At first, I was hesitant. But realizing that a four-day extended weekend in Cancun would benefit us all in multiple ways, I made a decision that turned out to benefit us all. We were already feeling exhausted from our accelerated school curriculum and extra-curricular activities. And I realized that yes, my kids deserve a “mental health day” the same way many adults in the working, corporate environment do.

That’s when we decided to take a few days off, pack our bags and visit the Fiesta American Condesa Cancun All-Inclusive resort. The property has been recently renovated to include all of their guest rooms, lobby, Kid’s Club, and pool and beachside lounging areas.

And quite frankly, it was a decision that we definitely do not regret. And while that is certainly true for the most part of the year, Cancun during the offseason is different. For my family, it was relaxing, it was peaceful and most importantly, it was perfection.

Now, I don’t know if it was the fact that we were visiting in October that felt so great, or that the hotel just seemed so serene and welcoming for us. It was most likely a combination of both and maybe the reason why we now consider our long weekend at Fiesta Americana to be one of our favorite trips in recent memory. We didn’t think about deadlines, emails, homework, or math tests.

The only thing on our mind was the incredible sunrises in the blue waters of the Mexican Caribbean, the abundant selection of fresh Mexican cuisine, and what felt like endless summer days in the hotel’s infinity pool. The weather was also sunny and warm, which probably made us forget that Halloween, Thanksgiving and the holidays were only a few short weeks away.

Plus, Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun just has so many perks and amenities, that it felt more like a home than a hotel. It’s an incredibly family-friendly property with 500 premium rooms and suites. Their new décor features local materials such as conchuela, a compacted marine shell that maintains a room’s cool temperature along with wooden furniture, new electric lock doors, and redesigned bathroom and showers.

There are 10 food and beverage venues to choose from, the Miiluma Spa that features a variety of treatments (including passion fruit and mango aromatherapy, a chocolate wrap and a Melipona honey facial) and rooms with the latest tech gadgets. Each one has upgraded USB plugs, 56-inch smart TV’s and a faster Wi-fi connection throughout the hotel.

The hotel’s Thanksgiving deal gives guests up to 50 percent off, with a booking window of November 14 to 23, 2018 and a travel window of November 14, 2018, through December 23, 2019. You can save 50 percent off with a booking window of November 24 to 28, 2018 and a travel window of more than an entire year, spanning from November 24, 2018, to December 28, 2019.

Even though my children could have easily done their homework with the hotel’s faster internet service, we didn’t have the time, nor even cared to do it. Instead, we were too busy making memories and bonding as a family – something we wouldn’t have otherwise done in the middle of such a busy month for us, but an off-season one in paradise.
