Next in line is Madikwe Game Reserve, located in the North West province of South Africa. Located a four-hour drive from Johannesburg, this is a convenient place to enjoy a true safari. The reserve is home to around 10,000 animals, spread out over 60 species and including the legendary Big Five.
While many travelers head to the National Parks of South Africa, private game reserves like Madikwe are a perfect choice too. Madikwe is also the fifth-largest game reserve in the country.
The game reserve is also very accommodating, with a huge choice of places to stay.
