New Food And Wine Museum Coming To Dijon, France
Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie et du Vin in Dijon
After more than a decade of planning, the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie et du Vin in Dijon, France will open on May 6. The museum is dedicated to the celebration of French gastronomy.
The food and wine museum is set in a new building in the center of Dijon. Moreover, it is within easy distance of the UNESCO-designated Climate Burgundy vineyards and the famous Route de Grand Crus, known by wine enthusiasts from all over the world.
What can you expect from the new museum?
Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie et du Vin will offer visitors to Dijon a number of ways in which to explore the world of French cuisine and wine. Among these will be wine tastings, cooking classes, restaurants, exhibitions and movies, all hosted at the museum.
The museum will host four separate exhibition pavilions, including a unique, temporary exhibit, “It’s not cake: the secrets of French pastry.” This exhibit will explore the details of this wonderful sweet delicacy with the support of renowned pastry chef Pierre Hermé.

Meanwhile, the Cave de la Cité wine cellar introduces visitors to 250 different wines. These will be available by the glass and in wine tasting sessions led by École des Vins (school of wines). While the cellar will spotlight Burgundy wines, selections will be available from around the world.
Meanwhile, the museum will host a specialty bookstore, offering gastronomy-related books for purchase – the perfect souvenir to take home.
