American Airlines has now joined other airlines in offering nonstop flights to this popular Mexican destination. The only drawback is travelers will have to wait until spring to fly direct with American Airlines. Until that time, the best option is for travelers to fly to Cancun and then make their own way down to Tulum, as many have in the past. Unfortunately, this does add to the cost of the vacation, but with the new international airport opening, things are gradually getting much easier to travel to Tulum.
American Airlines’ first nonstop Tulum route launches on March 28, 2024, and the airline has picked three US cities to offer the new route. Travelers from Dallas/Fort Worth will have more options, and the other two cities Miami and Charlotte – will only feature one flight per day. However, if this isn’t convenient, US travelers do have more options to take them to the sea, sand and history of Tulum.
