Singapore Vacation? Find Out If You Need A Visa To Travel

Singapore is a fascinating destination, with its ultramodern architecture, beautiful natural parks and more. Even its airport is a wonder to gaze at, which can be unusual for the regular traveler. Only recently, the island state dropped its remaining COVID regulations to welcome travelers following the pandemic. However, while, entry requirements for most nationalities are straightforward, it’s always best to check to find out how to enter and enjoy Singapore. Read on to find out whether you need a visa to travel.
Which nationalities require a visa to visit Singapore?
Singapore’s visa requirements depend on nationality as well as the number of days to be spent in the country and the reason for visiting. Citizens of 164 countries can enter the country for tourism purposes for a stay of 30 or 90 days without the need for a visa.
To get an idea, all citizens of the European Union, Australia, Switzerland, New Zealand, Norway, South Korea, the United States and Japan get 90 days visa-free. Meanwhile, citizens of all other eligible countries can stay for a maximum of 30 days with no visa required.
Visas for those not on the visa waiver list

However, depending on their nationality, travelers from a country not on the visa waiver list have to apply for an e-visa or regular tourist visa. E-visa applications are quick and easy and can be done online with a one-day processing time. However, regular visas require a bit more effort. Those travelers will need to contact the nearest Singaporean diplomatic mission or apply for a visa through an agent.
What else is required for a visit to Singapore?
Travelers of all nationalities traveling to Singapore as a tourist must meet the following entry requirements:
- A valid passport with a minimum validity of six months at departure
- Sufficient funds to cover all eventualities during their stay
- SG Arrival Card:
While most other Southeast Asian countries require a paper-based Disembarkation Card to be completed on arrival, Singapore is different. All travelers are required to submit an SG Arrival Card online. Each has to provide basic personal information, a health declaration and trip details. This information goes direct to Singapore’s immigration officials. Travelers can obtain an SG Arrival Card via the SG Arrival Card app or the official ICA website.
While COVID-related information is no longer required, all travelers, including residents, arriving in Singapore from countries with a risk of yellow fever transmission must produce a yellow fever vaccine certificate. Any traveler with no valid yellow fever vaccination certificate is liable to be quarantined. The stay will be at their own cost and is for up to six days on arrival in the country.
Does your passport get stamped?

Some travelers enjoy having stamps on their passports from every country they visit. However, Singapore no longer stamps passports. As of October 10, 2021, all travelers arriving at Changi Airport will receive an electronic Visit Pass (e-Pass) visa email instead of a passport stamp. This e-Pass contains details of the visa, the maximum number of days stayed, and the last day each traveler is allowed to remain in Singapore.
