United Airlines has announced new flights to four Asian destinations, offering US travelers more scope for their vacations. This year, the airline has been busy adding new routes around the world. This winter, United will offer long-haul flights to 15 new destinations across the Pacific. What better way to stay warm in the winter months to come?

The airline’s last major announcement was the largest South Pacific expansion ever in aviation. However, adding Australia and New Zealand to their itineraries was just the beginning. Moreover, one of the new Asian routes is the first of its kind.

United Airlines is launching a new historic route to the Philippines. This Asian country offers gorgeous islands, idyllic beaches, crystal clear waters and a beautiful culture. Currently, American travelers who want to visit would need to take a foreign airline, like Philippine Airlines. However, after the latest announcement, this is no longer the case. In fact, travelers will be able to fly United direct from San Francisco to the Philippines capital, Manila, starting October 29, 2023.

This makes United the first US airline to fly direct to Manila from mainland USA. Even better, the new flight will see passengers taking off daily on a Boeing 777-300ER, the largest plane in United’s fleet. When the new route launches, United will be the only US airline flying nonstop to the Philippines.

While the flight is only available from San Francisco, this is an easy city to reach because the only alternative flight to Manila with United would be from Palau or Guam.

New flights from Los Angeles to Hong Kong

While adding the Philippines as a direct flight is good news, United hasn’t stopped yet, as three more destinations are also being added to their schedule. One is a new route to the bustling city of Hong Kong, which, as with Manila, United is the only US carrier to offer a nonstop service. Meanwhile, flights from San Francisco to Hong Kong are already running, but from October 28, 2023, United will increase its service from Los Angeles to Hong Kong.

Daily flights from Los Angeles to Hong Kong will be offered on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Moreover, this means United will offer three combined flights to Hong Kong from both Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Next in line, United is adding more flights from the US to Tokyo in Japan. Moreover, starting from October 28, 2023, an additional flight will be added from Los Angeles to Japan’s capital. This new flight will be offered daily on a luxe 787-10 Dreamliner. However, as opposed to United’s existing service to Tokyo, the new flights will go to another major airport.

Currently, the airline flies from Los Angeles to Tokyo/Haneda (HND) and will continue. However, the new flight will head to Tokyo/Narita (NRT), which offers travelers the option to choose which airport is more convenient for them.

While this one isn’t a new route, as United Airlines already flies to Taipei, they have now launched a new service to the city. Starting on October 29, 2023, the airline will offer a new flight from San Francisco to Taipei. This will make two flights per day from that airport, on a Boeing 777-200ER.

All the new Asia routes are currently on sale on United Airlines’ website and app.
