Animals are always a major attraction for the whole family and Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo has more than 300 animals, 199 sub-species and more than 50 primates to visit. Moreover, for an extra fee, the family can have a personal experience where they can pet kangaroos and sloths, or feed the giraffes. 2. Experience history at Fort Morgan

Built in 1834, Fort Morgan is known for its role in the Battle of Mobile Bay, where Union Rear Admiral David made the historic battle cry, “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!” Meanwhile, the admission fee includes a self-guided tour of the fort and its museum, which features uniforms, weapons and photos of soldiers who served at the fort.

Waterville USA is a water park with 20 acres of attractions to enjoy. The water park first opened in 1986 and has gone on to become one of the area’s most iconic attractions with its full selection of rides to suit all ages. The older kids will get a thrill on the Gold Rush’s 20-foot plunge into a lagoon, with twists and turns along the way. Moreover, for those who prefer dry land adventures, several water-free options include some iconic escape rooms.
