Windstar Cruises announces Mystery Cruise for 2025

The eight-day President’s Mystery Cruise is set to depart from and return to Athens, Greece. Meanwhile, Windstar Cruises is the leader in small ship luxury cruising, is excited to announce the intriguing sailing, set to leave on April 19, 2025.

Regrettably, this intriguing cruise isn’t available to everyone as it is aimed at Windstar’s valued repeat guests and their friends. While the cruise heads out of Athens and returns to Greece’s capital, details of the ports of call will remain a mystery to guests sailing on Windstar’s 312-guest, all-suite Star Legend. Guests lucky enough to take the cruise will only learn about each destination 24 hours before arriving at the port.

Meanwhile, when the exact locations are revealed, guests will be able to choose from a variety of shore excursions at the destination. According to Windstar Cruises, guests can anticipate many new, thrilling and exciting experiences on the Mystery Cruise. Windstar Cruises’ President, Christopher Prelog, said in a statement:

It’s going to be a lot of places – the majority of them, if not all of them – we haven’t been before.

Moreover, lucky guests onboard the Star Legend will also get to meet Prelog, as the Mystery Cruise also doubles as the company’s annual, popular President’s Cruise. On the sailing, guests will have the opportunity to know the leadership of the luxury small cruise line, which dubs itself “180 degrees from ordinary.”

Prelog also confessed that the team is keeping the mystery itinerary a secret even from him, adding:

The team is keeping the itinerary secret even from me. They know I get excited about things and can’t help sharing; I’m looking forward to the anticipation of finding out where we’re going along with the guests on board.

When asked about this new concept in cruising, Prelog said the idea came from the recent Tahiti & the Tuamotu Islands cruise on the Star Breeze. Two days into its 11-day cruise, Tropical Cyclone Nat interfered with the cruise ship’s course. This led to the onboard team taking swift action to craft a new and exciting itinerary to avoid the bad weather.

Windstar Cruises received such a positive response for the new itinerary, including a keen sense of adventure. This sparked the cruise line’s leadership to use this idea to create the Mystery Cruise concept. Prelog explained:

It’s sort of awakening the sense of adventure again, which is what travel should always do. It’s something different, something really interesting. It’s a cruise for guests who like adventure, and who don’t want to plan everything out.
