Disney Cruise Line Unveils Disney Treasure Mega-Ship
Disney Cruise Line unveils Disney Treasure
The announcement was made at the D23 Expo over the weekend that Disney’s newest cruise ship will bear the name Disney Treasure. However, cruising fans shouldn’t get too excited yet, as the new mega-ship will only start sailing in 2024.
The sixth cruise ship in the fleet has been designed with adventure in mind. The Triton-class cruise ship features characters from one of the entertainment company’s classic films, Aladdin. The story was partly inspired by the Middle Eastern folktale, One Thousand and One Nights, and depicts a street urchin, with his pet monkey and his love for a royal princess.
New cruise destinations
Currently, new destinations are being added to some of Disney Cruise Line’s existing itineraries. In fact, for the first time, ports in New Zealand and Australia will be included from October 2023. Meanwhile, the 965-feet-long ship the Disney Wonder will be voyaging to the South Pacific for the first time in 2023. Moreover, that ship was inspired by the golden age of cruising. Among its new destinations, ports in Fiji and Samoa are being added to the itineraries.
New private island experience on Lighthouse Point in the Bahamas
Even better, the company says that Lighthouse Point will be powered 90 percent through solar energy. Meanwhile, besides being an exciting tourist destination, Lighthouse Point will also offer sustainable economic opportunities for locals in the Bahamas. The company is giving back to the destination their ships have been visiting since 1998.
Location of Lighthouse Point
Meanwhile, Lighthouse Point is located less than 125 miles from Castaway Cay, a Disney destination in the Abaco chain of the Bahamas.
