Review: Agriturismo Casanova Greve in Chianti, Italy "Feel Like A Local"

My husband and I spent four days in Greve in Chianti, Italy and we stayed at Agriturismo Casanova which is about a 10 minute walk from Greve in Chianti.

We stayed at the apartment that was closer to the main road. Our apartment was connected to the house of the owners.   Don’t worry, just because it was connected it was still quiet.  The walls were very thick and we could not hear anything next door. The apartment was very large, the kitchen was huge and if you are a cook you will love it. They had an old stone stove area as decoration. The two bedrooms were located upstairs. The larger bedroom had two single beds. They were older, but comfy enough. We pushed them together the nights we decided to sleep in that room. The other bedroom had a queen size bed and was comfy.

The grounds outside the villa complex were really nice and had lots of perfectly maintained gardens and foliage. There were plenty of adorable cats running around that belonged to the owners. The only problem we had were the gnats, which loved to bite me. We went in July and had to run in and out very fast, but sadly we still got bitten!  The outside of our place had a patio area that was very nice. The owners were extremely hospitable and left you completely alone, they were not obtrusive but at the same time made you feel very welcome. However, if you wished to start a conversation you could, they were super friendly. The husband is originally from France, so he speaks French well. His dogs were well trained and beautiful. The family grew their own grapes for wine and there place is pretty much self-sustaining. They provided us with their olive oil and it was of high quality. The husband also gave us a pitcher of his white wine.  Nothing was too much trouble.

The location is nice and it is an easy to walk to the center. We had fun walking each day to the Cantina and petting some cats on the way. Don’t miss the turtles (with a pet bird) that live on the front lawn of a house along the way. Agriturismo_Casanova_cat

The location is ideal for visiting other towns in the area.  For a slightly rustic vacation in the heart of Tuscany we recommend Agriturismo Casanova. To find out more about staying there check out their website: CLICK HERE
