Get Free Accommodation As Curaçao Opens For Summer Travel

Gradually, the world is opening up to travelers for summer, while the COVID-19 pandemic eases to some extent. The latest is the Caribbean island of Curaçao that is now ready to accept visitors and is even offering them free hotel nights as an added incentive.

Why visit Curaçao in the Caribbean?

Curaçao is a popular Caribbean destination, with beautiful white and black sand beaches, 65-plus diverse diving sites, including shipwrecks, hiking trails and its quaint streets lined with the beautiful, candy-colored houses. The island also features a rich cultural heritage with fascinating places to visit and delicious cuisine to enjoy.

However, on top of its usual attractions, this Lesser Antilles island country is going one step further to attract visitors this summer. The island is getting ready to lift its COVID-19 restrictions and is preparing to offer attractive incentives to lure visitors to its shores.

In fact, Curaçao is offering to host visitors while offering them every fourth night free at participating hotels on the island between June 19 and October 30. The offer was recently announced by the Curaçao Tourist Board, but those interested should be quick to make their reservations by June 29 to be able to take advantage of this generous offer.

Curaçao lifts its island-wide curfew

The offer of free accommodation comes in the wake of Curaçao lifting its island-wide night curfew for the first time in more than a year. Other restrictions, such as capacity limits in outdoor bars and restaurants, have also been lifted as the island returns to a semi-normal state.

According to the Curaçao Tourism Board, the island is easing up on its restrictions after experiencing a COVID-19 positivity rate of slightly over 0.15 percent over the last three weeks. Another important reason for the easing of restrictions is the island’s vaccine rollout. Reportedly, Curaçao has vaccinated some 86,000 people, or around 54.6 percent of the islands total population.

Speaking of the offer, Paul Pennicook, CEO of the Curaçao Tourist Board, said that after experiencing a difficult 2020, the tourism and hospitality industry is making every effort to get tourism going again, while travelers are longing for a Caribbean vacation this summer. Another incentive is available for those looking for a longer vacation as well as remote workers, who are welcome to stay on the island for up to six months.

What is required?

Travelers wishing to visit Curaçao will be required to present proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test on arrival, taken within three days of their trip. They are also required to carry a printed result with them at all times. One other requirement is that visitors need to schedule a rapid antigen test on the third day of their stay in Curaçao.

What is the weather like in Curaçao?

As Curaçao lies on the outer edges of the Hurricane Belt, the island offers reliably good weather all year round, even during the summer and fall. Visitors can expect the odd, short, isolated shower, followed by glorious sunshine and temperatures of around 84 degrees Fahrenheit through late October.

Forbes reports that the following hotels are participating in the promotion and that members of the Curaçao Apartments and Small Hotels Association (CASHA) are also making the offer, giving visitors additional, more intimate accommodations.

  • Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort
  • Avila Beach Hotel
  • Papagayo Beach Hotel
  • Dolphin Suites
  • Blue Bay Curaçao Golf & Beach Resort
  • Landhuis Bona Vista
  • La Palmeraie Mini-Resort
  • Piscadera Harbour Village
  • Mustique Suites Curacao

Make a plan to visit Curaçao this summer – experience everything the island has to offer, including that generous every fourth night free at the selected hotels.
