Universal Orlando Wizarding World of Harry Potter Creating New Interactive Ride?

Fans of Universal Orlando Wizarding World of Harry Potter, clutch your wands! A rumor floating around hints that the theme park is creating a new interactive ride. The possible new Wizarding World of Harry Potter ride is said to be in the creative stages and might make a debut at the Orlando location.

Video Game Ride

I want to underline this news is rumor at this point, but a Snitch Seeker member reported that Universal City Studios, which is a subsidiary of NBC Universal, applied for a patent to create a new “video game ride.” The user reported that the patent described the possible new WWoHP attraction as a “wizard-themed game where guests can compete with each other or even work together to accomplish tasks by using character wands to score points in puzzle rooms where the actions that the players take within each scene or puzzle change the environment and allow different paths to be activated or different physical effects to take place.”

This sounds nothing short of amazing! I really hope this is one of those rumors that turns out to be true. It echoes a familiar experience like that of the Men in Black Alien Attack, but far more interactive. The patent goes on to state, “If the wand motion is associated with a particular spell that is an effective spell for the game, the player’s score may be updated to indicate a successful ‘freezing spell’ or other spell has been cast.”

Child-Friendly Ride

Even more interesting is that the ride might be child-friendly for the younger muggles missing out on the bigger attractions like Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. ““If a family with small children is participating in the ride, the game may receive input on the player ages to select appropriate game environments,” the patent allegedly states.
